Finally, I had the wonderful opportunity to journey to Juvet, the spectacular Landscape Hotel nestled in the breathtaking scenery of Norway. Originally booked for summer 2020 after our intended wedding well we all know how 2020 went so this visit was long overdue!
Exploring Norway has been a passion of mine for over a decade, tracing back to when I first saw the iconic image of Hamnøy in Lofoten on a postcard. I refused to believe the place was real until I visited, only to realize it was way better than any picture could ever do justice. Once my fascination to discover more of Norway became a reality, I soon learned about Juvet. Shortly after, Juvet featured as a key location in the movie Ex Machina, and at that point, I knew I needed to visit. Fast forward to the last season of Succession, where they filmed an entire episode in Norway, with much of it filmed at Juvet, and I knew I needed to get my trip planned!
In May 2024, during the last 3 weeks of my paternity leave from work, along with my 1-year-old daughter and husband, I finally arrived at Juvet - and I am happy to say that it surpassed all my expectations. The greeting was exceptional, with the team going above and beyond. After being shown to our Landscape Room, we explored the rest of the destination, from the Bathhouse with the sauna and hot tub offering breathtaking views over the thundering river to finishing at the barn for our 3-course meal. The dishes were made from local ingredients and paired with wines. Breakfast and dinner are included, served at a communal table so you can connect with other visitors.
The natural beauty of the location, combined with its role as a central base for exploring the stunning region of Norway, truly sets it apart. This unique experience at Juvet promises an exceptional and unforgettable vacation, perfect for those seeking a truly elevated retreat.
